I managed to get myself into Moodle for the very first time today. The way I saw it I was not so sure- some of the links seemed cumbersome for a newbie. I will persist.

Greetings from sunny Chicago!
Keep those posts coming in Twitter, I am also dabbling with Moodle, your posts have great links to explore. I think I have figured out most of the "front end" but the back end has me scratching my head. I think I need to spend four days dabbling!
Thanks for letting us learn alongside you!

We use Drupal and were looking at Elgg- but after the later pretty much imploded, have been using Moodle now for about two years. We've got a real strong Fine Arts program that uses Moodle for assessment and assignments.

We use Drupal for blogging though. Maybe 1.9 is different, but Moodle organization around classes seems to be somewhat of a stumbling block with regards to having kids blog and allowing others to read. I want to make it as easy as possible to allow kids to scaffold off each other and it can be hard to get to class blogs.

Once we upgrade to 1.9 I'm going to re-visit Moodle blogging to see if it's different and/or the use of rss feeds can facilitate an easy cycle of blogging.
